The owner came by this rod by winning a Cast-A-Winston contest some years ago – he ended up trading a number of the graphite prize rods for this excellent bamboo piece

This appears to be an early version of Joe' well-regarded deluxe line of reels

with the bottom 1/4 inch broken off (does not affect function)

Kelson Gary Howells Rod bag with Ron’s hangingThis mint 1995 edition of Kelson's classic book on salmon flies is one of 750 copies put out on the 100th anniversary of the first edition by the Flyfisher's Classic Library. The book features black leather and gilt decoration, with the frontis a picture of Kelson (1835 1920), a famed early salmon angler. The copy includes color photos and descriptions of many fly patterns. Comes in a black slipcase. Nice copy for any library.
