It needs cleaning up but the metal is solid with a bit of a patina and surface rust

a donor 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT running and is rust free as you can see in the underneath pictures

it will not come off with steel wool but may with other methods

this part is in good shape with a few small scratches on this part
