It was in the 1980’s we planted our very first Chardonnay plants in our very own Henderson Valley vineyard along the Opanuku Creek and it didn't take long to realise this wine would exceed expectation and become our number one dry white wine

some of which are not commercially grown any longer

Harvested in perfect condition and fermented using wild yeasts to natural high temperatures

Pressed and Tank Fermented

2017 Proprietors Cellar Merlot Format:750ml Residual Sugar 100 g/LA Premium New Zealand Merlot made from an ultra low yielding single vineyard in Bridge Pa, Hawkes Bay. Harvested in perfect condition and fermented using wild yeasts to natural high temperatures, this wine was finally aged and matured in French Oak for 12 months keeping to tradition of the Old World approach to winemaking. Unfined and lightly filtered to bottle. Awarded Gold Medal at 2019 CWSA. "Celebrating more than 200 years family winemaking"
